Watching a sparrowhawk reccy-ing my garden for some unfortunate fledglings. Fortunately the first crop of blackbirds departed last week, the second crop is still in the nest and the new sparrows had all hidden themselves, along with the 3 new rabbits.
I get very paternal about my fledglings after feeding their parents all winter and no interloping raptor is going to predate on them - even if it's got its own fledglings to feed. It can go and eat someone else's offspring.
