Sitting looking at a Wilier Gran Turismo and kind of wishing someone else would come along and finish its conversion to Ultegra R8000.

Wondering why anyone at Shimano Inc. thought that the shape of an R8000 rear mech was in any way aesthetically pleasing?

and

YOYOYOY did they have to bugger about quite so much with cable attachment?

and

Life's too bloody short to be pissing about with internally routed cables when the exit hole in the frame is around 3mm in diameter.

If this is the future then I'm going fixed . . . *

*I'm not - but this job is making it seem attractive.

Sitting on a bench at Liverpool Lime St, waiting for the train to London so I can get a train to Portsmouth & ferry to France.

**Firmly bolting the stable door etc.**

There is a direct train to Portsmouth from Manchester Piccadilly. It's a roughly similar time to the M/C-London-Portsmouth (as it seems to stop at everyone's garden gate IIRC) but doesn't involve VoyagerLinos. When I wuz contemplating a Normandy Escape a couple of years ago it seemed like a viable alternative to trying to get from $Mainline station to station in that London that they have now...

I shall bear that in mind for next time. I’ve no problems with the Liverpool to London run. There is usually bike space & not the dangly kind. I’d happily miss having to ride to Waterloo & having to deal with SouthWesterns bike rules though.

Lots of pics I hope, not at all envious.  :smug: <<<< Note is Green! An alternative that showed up the year we went to Normandy due to train machinations was direct to Brighton and then trundle along south coast rail to P'mouth.

drinking prosecco while trying to do this week's expenses

I made the same mistake as last time, got off at Portsmouth Harbour instead of Portsmouth & Southsea.
Currently in the ferry terminal which is full of Scouts.

You are better off getting off at the harbour, that way you get a flat push out of the station and no turnstiles to negotiate.

Sitting in my fathers living room with a restorative beer after an argument about my political naivety. 🤕

Kicking myself for not recognising the engine rumble of the Lancaster bomber that has just flown overhead at low level. Only caught  rear end view which quickly disappeared.

I'm sitting in my office/remote command centre for the first time in three weeks (after a bout of travel) trying to remember what precisely I am paid to do when I sit in my office.

Watching a sparrowhawk reccy-ing my garden for some unfortunate fledglings.  Fortunately the first crop of blackbirds departed last week, the second crop is still in the nest and the new sparrows had all hidden themselves, along with the 3 new rabbits.

I get very paternal about my fledglings after feeding their parents all winter and no interloping raptor is going to predate on them - even if it's got its own fledglings to feed.  It can go and eat someone else's offspring.

Now having a sneaky 20 minutes in my room over the pub, avoiding the chaotic over filled1room that is my daughters sitting room.

1. Physically there are currently 8 others there, but there are some BIG egos and it’s all just a bit too much for my delicate psyche.
