I've never read Portnoy's Complaint but I did read Sabbath's Theater, which is utterly depraved. Also very funny.

Definitely up there as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century.

Never read any of his, due to having had "Call It Sleep" shoved at me one Christmas and dozing off reading it. CIS was by Henry Roth, so thereafter I shied away from Roths in general.

"Utterly depraved" sounds good, though.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight
