42 mins ahead of schedule at Gloucester.  Good tailwind!

New 24 hour RRA record.  Torrential rain over Shap.  To beat the LeJOG record, he needs to finish before breakfast tomorrow.

Interesting concept.  He should easily finish hours before my breakfast.

Over Forth Road Bridge now.  Most of Scotland still to go.

Easy way to track progress: https://frrt.org/endtoend2018/ and https://frrt.org/endtoend2018/map

According to the last CP he's ~40 minutes up on his schedule.

He was over an hour up but has lost time due to rain that has stayed with him since northern England, and has exhausted his supply of spare clothes.

I note that his schedule has him completing in 42:42.  How very, err, meaningful.

Today's heavy rain in n. England and Scotland had been forecast for the past few days so I assume it has been factored in.  Trouble with rain and a tailwind is it follows you!

He's now back down to schedule, and riding his road bike.  The cold and wet mean that his neck muscles are cramping up.

Was still ahead at last time check but tweets suggest he's not going to be riding much longer.  I'd chuck the weight of the helmet and switch to a cap (better for rain too) but it's prob far too late for that.

He's past that nasty drag NW from Pitlochry.  Easier miles and a full tailwind for a good while now.  Hopefully that will lift his spirits.

Shermer neck apparently.   Riding holding his head up.

Astounding effort, especially given the rain since Shap.
Great to see He's provisionally got the 24hour record.

Shermer used a bungee IIRC.

Nail biting.  He's having neck braces brought to him and has started to pull shead of his schedule again.

He's now got 6:13 to do 93 miles.  I reckon he's got this.

If I'm reading the tracking website right, he passed the most recent checkpoint, on the Dornoch Bridge, ahead of schedule.

I wonder what clothing he'd choose if he could turn back the clock? Maybe a motorcyclist's heated vest?
