I am in the process of volunteering - probably Coxwold  :).

Currently investigating the logistics in taking a couple of days to ride up, camping overnight, and then riding back after the event.

I believe that volunteers can claim reasonable expenses such as train fares so it you are feeling a bit lazy...let the train take the strain!

I'm volunteering - Saturday afternoon at registration at Lea Valley and then along the way at Gamlingay or the next one (depending on where the need is greatest) and then at Thorne on the way out and back.  Just when I get there depends on how my husband, VeloYellow, is getting on but should be good for a few hours at each depending on how long it takes to drive between controls.  My thinking is that I can provide an extra pair of hands when things are busiest.

Does that make me an Audax groupie (a very small group I suspect)??  ;)

Please make yourself known to us riders so that I don't have to ask everyone "Are you fungus " ! Same for the other volunteers on here. I am rider number 42 and  I look like the picture on the left.

I am hoping to persuade my vols to wear names badges, it was a suggestion Mike made when in Carlise so I took it on board.  As to you looking like yoru pic, it's debatable! You maybe! But  there are some very odd profile pics and if some of those people are riding, I expect to see an odd 'FLUMP' and a few other very strange characters! ;D

I can see Coxwold is going to be a Very Silly Place come the end of July.

Are we allowed to laugh at the tired cyclists too?

Laughing is compulsory, frowning is to be frowned upon.

Just seen you on 'Youtube'...don't think you had any clothes on though!  So...looks like this...You run round grunting and hitting people with sticks!  Do I need to pack you a stick or will you bring your own?

The Things should be helping out at Lee at the start - assuming the other Thing sorts himself out & sends off the form.

Are the Things a cartoon character too?  Like the Flumps or the Gogs?  ;)

Hmmm, not exactly cartoon characters. We could wear blue wigs and red jumpsuits if it would help though!  :)
