If injured would be audaxers are on the invite list I'd like to come along too.

Maybe I could get the prize for least miles cycled in 2009 :-[

And I am sure Andy Pandy want to come along too......

Well, if not injured but CBA audaxers are invited, eh Noodley?, well then you guys are more than welcome!
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

Thanks, though worth noting that Noodley, even at his most CBA, would still leave us for dust ::-)

Count us in. Neither weekend is taken up with weddings or such things this year. So that is +2

[she actually wants to ride an audax and has asked me to set up one of my bikes so she can use it

While it suits the rest of us that you ride heavy steel bikes (god knows how fast you'd climb on a really light bike) wouldn't something a bit lighter and prettier be better suited to Mrs MK?

Hi Y Lee G
Myself and my good lady ( fresh from helping out at Dalkeith on the LEL) are interested in paying a visit to the lands east of Glasgow, the last weekend in November would be the preferred option.

Cheers

My bike isn't heavy, it's the saddlebag that weighs it down.  I rode down to Leeds on a DIY 300 last Friday and my saddle bag weighed 10kg!  I blame the complete change of clothes, including shoes.

The AUK AGM and Dinner is on the 28th November! Please could the social gathering be on the 5th December. Perhaps as the AGM is in York the could be more Scots there this year. It is good fun.

Despite having met a lot of you already Mrs. Cyclops has decided she wishes to come along too.
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

Having taken soundings at Forfar on Sunday, the clear preference is for the 28th November, which suits me as I now definitely cant make the 5th Dec.  Anythging earlier in November is too close to, or a clash with the Nippy Sweetie & Forth Finale.  Anything later in December was never really an option (like most places, Edinburgh goes a bit mental in the weeks approaching Christmas, - which is why I'm now unavailable on the 5th December).

So, subject to Mr Khushi confirming that we are welcome, November 28th it is.

I'm sure we'll not be able to live up to the moment to moment excitemet of the AUK AGM in the English Midlands, but we'll give it our best shot.

I'd agree here.Just take out the word AGM and you are left with a really sociable weekend on and off the bike.
It would be great to see a few more Ecosse there and as it's York this year a really easy one to get to especially on the train.

Let us know what Mr Khushi says then - we'll need to book a hotel before what's left disappears.....

I'll PM those non audaxers who attended last year - I kept a list - and hopefully that will be enough to get the ball rolling but do feel free to spread the word by other means.  I dont frequent too many other areas of YACF so wouldnt really know where to post it other than here.

I was about to ask if non-audaxers could come along too, so I'll take that as a yes. Maybe next year I will consider audaxing. Could we do a 10 mile audax along the canal, maybe?

Kirst, we could if there is a cashpoint or 24 hour garage at either end :)

There's probably one at the canal basin, or we could pay huge amounts of money for mediocre food at the Bridge Inn and get receipts.

Is it the done thing to stop and pick blackberries when audaxing, by the way?

Nah, I'm for keeping it on 28 Nov too. Otherwise we could all be remembering other entertainments on that date that we've forgotten about. And I'm sure the AGM etc would be a most sociable occasion but for me, and possibly others too, there's a big difference between a wee overnight to Embra and a couple of days down in Englandshire. Anyway, we like to go to York at Easter, in the nice weather. Don't we?  ;)

Kum-ba-yah.  :)

It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.
