Dear all - table for 25 confirmed on Saturday 28th November at Khushis Diner, West Nicholson Street, Edinburgh - Khushis Diner - Authentic Indian Restaurant Edinburgh.

In the same way as last year, they operate an early / late policy so I have plumped for a 9pm booking which allows proper pre event hydration.  I'm going to pop into to speak to them about the menu and it looks likely that in the name of efficiency we will have set starters (as per last year) and for mains it will either be a trimmed down menu or we'll have to pre order, but I'll confirm in due course.   This should also help those in need of a late train as I recall a few having to bolt their dinner before heading off.  Those wishing to join us before / after / both for drinks only are very welcome.  Location TBC.

If you are interested in attending please can you send me a cheque for £20 to secure your place.  Depending on the final approach regarding the meal there may be a small additional charge on the night.  Book early to avoid disappiontment - the restaurant can tweak numbers a bit, but as this is much smaller premises than last year, scope is limited.

My home address as per the audax uk website, but PM me otherwise.

Oh yeah, and if you want to go on a modest bike ride on the Saturday morning, I'm leading the Edinburgh Road Club beginners ride that day - typically 40 miles at an audaxish pace of about 14mph with the added carrot of Bruno's cafe for lunch.  Meet Commonwealth Pool 9.45am.  All welcome ie you dont have to be an ERC member.

Beat you - our entries and deposits already psoted.  ;)

You do know that deposits must be accompanied by an official AUK Entry Form, don't you?
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I sent 2 stamped address envelopes with mine as well, just to be on the safe side. I must admit it's very kind of Y Lee G to produce individual route sheets for us all giving directions on how to get from our houses to Khushis  :P
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

I was sorely tempted to add the entry for the Nippy Sweetie to the cheque and enclose an entry form (and the two SAEs)

Would love to join you all (mostly to find out who you all are) but it's my dad's birthday on the 28th. After the year he's had we'll be spending it with him.

Another time maybe. Enjoy yourselves.
Weather forecast for the weekend?
It's character building verging on epic.

Oh dear, can you make it 25 and counting  >:(

I have made a right mess of the social calendar, and it turns out that our friends 40th party which I had in my diary for 21st apparently moved to 28th a couple of months ago  :-[

So, can I ask you just to rip up the cheque for Crystal Tips and Malandro & hopefully we'll make it next year - 3rd time lucky ::-)

Thanks

Dear all - just to confirm that we're now closed to new entrants - I went to see Mr Khushi last night in his new temporary premises.

So there are 28 of us as listed below -

Glasgow Dave, Perky Girl, The Islander, Half Mad Frae Zimbabwe
Audave, Ariadne, Tim, Eck
Mrs Eck, Keef, Fiona, Kirst
Mr Pingu, Mrs Pingu, Mr Cyclops, Mrs Cyclops
MercuryKev, Mrs Mercurry Kev, Valkyrie, Mistress Vakyrie
RJMcB, Y Lee G, Mrs G, Roberto
Mrs Roberto, Neil Mc, Mrs Neil Mc & Jonesy

Other miscellaneous points -

The restaurant is right next door to the Pear Tree pub so I suggest meeting there from 7pm (dinner is booked for 9pm) though unusually for an Edinburgh hostelry I've never been in it, but it looked ok last night from the outside.  A female colleague has just described it as "aye its Ok, a wee bit spit and sawdust" so that sounds fine.  If there are any better alternatves close by, just shout as its not a bit of the city I know that well.

Will cash cheques in next day or two.

Remember its a BYO based establishment.

Graeme - you've done a grand job organising this, it's become bigger than some Scottish calendar events!

To make things easier on the night, can we have a list of forum names with corresponding real life names? I'm not very good at remembering the less obvious ones.

I'll start: Valkyrie = Neil F, Mistress Valkyrie = Lorna
