Updates to the aukweb.net "Hall of fame"?
« on: 30 November, 2009, 04:42:47 pm »
Whilst browsing the results section on the AUK site I noticed that several of the hall of fame sections have not been updated for several years
Trikes
Bents
Tandems
etc

Is this because the awards no longer operate, nobody bothered to claim any of them in recent years, or just waiting on manual updates?
Is there some other (online) place I can find them?

I don't think they have to be claimed, just not been updated on the website since 2006.

The Handbook (available as PDF download) contains up to date lists.

If you look in the printed handbook you'll get more recent information.  I suspect this is an oversight.

These awards do need to be claimed as AUK doesn't record who rides what, and I'm sure we've had appeals here from time to time

You just have to wait with bated breath for the new Handbook in the New Year.

I certainly appealed at the end of the season for claims for fixed rides which were forthcoming - well done guys - and asked for tandems trikes and repugnants to go to Nev Holgate (hardly any) and RRTY to Mike Wigley, who will still, I think, be able to cope with a few more soon.

We are trying to arrange things so that all the data is in just one place (any more is inviting inaccuracies) and the pages altered so that the individual concerned will update it.    I'll be happy to maintain the fixed whel and ISR bits; Mike will presumably do the RRTY on top of everything else and the rest will get done by someone as yet not lumbered named.  Hopefully it will get updated more promptly.  It's currently work in progress, but should be in operation reasonably soon.
At the end of the day, when all's said and done, there's usually a lot more said than done.

Great, thanks. Thought I'd seen it somewhere.
Direct link in case anyone else is looking for it.
