Condor Paris bike, I think the "Path" model, anyway it's a modern conventional frame except for partial "bi-lam" lugs/sleeves on the head tube, not the funny Galibier model which is what Paris frames are known for.

I think this has the original paint but the name on the down tube has almost disappeared, the head badge and 531 sticker are still there though. Has TA cranks.

Ugly seat stay bridge
I rather like that seat stay bridge, if only because it's different. The bike as a whole is slipping into rat territory though!
-
A flat plate is better for mounting a rear rack though, like this Raleigh roadster.
Rod brakes, steering lock, dynohub hub gear, chaincase.

I had one similar to that when I was about 15! Except mine was black, had lost its chaincase (maybe I removed it) and was a Philips. Given it by an elderly neighbour. The bike must have been at least twice, quite likely three times, as old as I was. Quite fun to ride, except when I wanted to stop at the roundabout at the bottom of Farmhill Lane, for instance.

Yeah, they're more suited for cycling slowly in flat places.

...
But I don't like those forks, ...
Too straight?
Close...
-
I must be in the 99.99% then.
Do tell.
-
They look as though they've been crashed, perhaps?
-
It's purely a personal aesthetic preference. I like the curve to start lower down the fork blades, not halfway. Then the bend should be a smooth continuous curve to the dropouts, without becoming noticeably straight again.
The pink Mercier in the first post is sort of an example but it does become straight just above the dropout.
The Zieleman and Gazelle and the blue unknown frame has the bend lower down but it's a sharp bend and then straightens out.
This bikes seems to only have a coaster brake. Note the forks.

99.99% of people may notice it but just not share your view on fork aesthetics
-
looks like most of these bikes were rescued from a skip. which is a positive feature for a hack bike in london; you want it to be undesirable in order to still find it after leaving it on the street. it needs to function properly though (decent brakes, oiled chain etc.).
-
I do like a nicely curved fork.

It seems the forum resizes the pics, click on copy and paste the link for full size.
Max forum picture dimensions are 640px in either direction. In the FAQ, we ask people NOT to post larger photos, but to resize them to 640 first and link them to a larger one if required.
Yes, 640 is small but we did have a good think about this and it was after the days of dial-up, before anyone asks. 1024 doesn't work well on phone screens but the main issue is that, with tens of photos on a gallery page being pulled from numerous different servers, it gets slow even on broadband and, on mobile, it eats into data allowances very fast if they're all 3MB.

I agree some people are too lazy and upload huge pics straight from their camera unedited but I reduce to 1600x1200 (average about 400kb), or smaller like 1200x900. For pics where there's no need to zoom in to look at details, I'll go even smaller.
I thought the forum just shows them smaller, without actually reducing the dimensions and file size.
Right click and "view image info" on a pic in this thread gives something like:
Size: 426.8 KB
Dimensions: 1,600px × 1,200px (scaled to 640px × 480px)
Doesn't the pic come from the image host (eg Imgur) direct to your device?
Also it seems you can see the pics in a bigger size up to the original uploaded size by zooming in the web page (ctrl +), certainly bigger than 640x across, the text will get bigger as well.
-

No always lazy, sometime just computer-impaired. I've committed this crime while touring in the past, and subsequently replaced the images with scaled ones when I got back.
I thought the forum just shows them smaller, without actually reducing the dimensions and file size.
That's my understanding.
Furthermore, hiding them behind a spoiler tag (which might seem to be a reasonable compromise) doesn't actually prevent them loading.

They are (or were, I don't know if they are still in existance but probably are) a cycle shop in or near Poitiers. I thought they bought in frames to put their name on (rather like some of the late Jourdes kicking around Limoges, the genuine ones have Mercel's initials on the seat stays; the later ones were after he retired)

Sadly enough, a quick search revealed that there was a company named "Cycles Courtois" located near Poitiers, who ceased to exist in 2011 :(

Yes, I did do a search for Courtois and it seemed to be a French bike shop.

What the *~#@! is going on with the Evans's handlebars? I mean, sure bar position is a personal matter, but... !"£$%!
-
Loose stem bolt?
-
Well yeah, I'm wondering if it's just someone's preferred position or if they're loose.
-
The state of that hood doesn't look consistent with rigorous maintenance. And on closer inspection, the brake cable appears to suggest the bars have done a full rotation, so maybe they spent some time in the now legendary "DUI bars" position?
-
Well spotted. I'd noticed the hood but not the cable. Sherlock points for Kim!

Weird for the sake of weird spoke pattern, I don't know the know the name. I found a pic of 3 pulling/3 pushing that is similar but these are 2 pulling/2 pushing .
Both brake QR are up.
No seat bolt, seatpin is held up with a jubilee clip.

Itera plastic bike!
-
What happened to the Itera's saddle? Stolen, I suppose. Many years ago, Mrs Cudzo and I were walking along the street we lived on when a car went past with a blue bike on its roof. She was instantly taken with the bike and when the car serendipitously stopped just up the road, she talked to the people and bought the bike. It was not an Itera, though it was something unusual with a strange frame in two halves (left and right, but metal thankfully), but I think its plastic wheels were like the Itera's.

He'd need helium balloons.
This set of bike racks has form, it's where I snapped a unicycle last year.
-
Could it be functioning as a makeshift luggage support? Or perhaps as a handle for lifting it on to the roof of a car, or wherever?
-
Still can't work out what the third set of bars is for.
I was thinking about a child seat on a rear rack. There are two brazed bits above the rear caliper that are probably there for such a rack.

The Huret Eco gear was mid-late 80's (the long cage version replaced the Duopar Eco, the short cage version was also used on the Sachs 3x2 system). The mech most used in the 70's on that sort of bike was IIRC the Svelto.
It's very pretty but a curious mix of bits with steel cottered cranks but chromed guards and that very pretty rear brake arrangement. I think Aquilon were a label for budget bikes, like Stablinski (and even Poulidor) was but I must admit to knowing nothing about them. They come up in jumble sales, junk shops and "depot-vente" outlets.
-
I think I had a Huret Eco mech in about 1988.

Had a Svelto on a secondhand Raleigh Thing as a teenager. IIRC the idlers actually had proper ball bearings in them.

Interesting paint job, reminiscent of early Look carbon bikes. Those were made of round carbon fiber reinforced tubes glued to aluminium lugs. Probably none of them survived, they all self-destroyed through galvanic corrosion between aluminium and carbon. I saw one spliting apart in the middle of a race, circa 1990. Poor rider, I won't describe here what I saw that day.

The self-destroying frames I was thinking about had lugs that were much thicker than the tubes. Maybe 4 or 5 mm thicker. That's why I believed that the one on the photo above was a painted steel frame, but I might be wrong too!
