I'm all for a cynical, questioning attitude towards the worst corporate wankfest aspects of the Olympics, but Brewdog are a company trying on an attention-seeking stunt so they can sell more of their own product and hence increase their profits. I'm not falling for that one.  ::-)

We don't have them. Germany does.

The "beer" sounds like an excellent idea.

Brewdog is the only beer I have poured down the drain rather than drink. As did a beer-loving friend alongside me.

I'm not a fan of most of their stuff but they do make one or two I like.

Pouring beer down the drain? Good lord - I wouldn't even do that to Stella.

I rather like Brewdog's beers.

BTW which one of theirs wasn't to your taste?

I had one of their Tesco brews a double American IPA and it was hopped to buggery. Total overload. I drank it though seeing as it was 8%+ ABV.
Haggerty F, Haggerty R, Tomkins, Noble, Carrick, Robson, Crapper, Dewhurst, Macintyre, Treadmore, Davitt.

A double-IPA is supposed to be massively hopped. I quite like like it, very in the theme of similar US craft beers.

Yeah, the Brew Dog marketing machinery is a bit grimace-inducing, but they do some decent brews. They had a fantastic saison recently which induced some overindulgence on my part (I confess I was jonesing after a saison-tasting session in LA, so it was a surprise to find some in Manchester, and as a result I had to drink it all).

It wasn't good beer; it was the worst by far (home brews included) that I've ever tasted.

Blue and white label. Maybe had the word punk in it? Maybe Punk IPA?

Tasted like I'd imagine battery acid to taste.

Ah good ol' Punk IPA it is an acquired taste. Not one I acquired either.

And, having been reminded of the existence of the stuff, I got some in. As I remembered, it is indeed jolly good and Mrs n pronounced it "gorgeous".

It is quite nice and refreshing of a summer evening. They do another IPA (I think Hardcore IPA) which I confess I didn't like – too aggressively hopped and no balance.

(I'll be in the Pacific Northwest next week. Hic.)
