The good news: My nose is no longer running with snot.

The bad news: the glands in my neck are rapidly heating up and swelling.

Good news, my girlfriend and her daughter will be moving in Chez Quisling sometime in the later bit of November, yay!

Bad news:late November? That's nearly a quarter of a year to wait :-(

Nah, that's no time. It'll fly by. Our current washing up rota sheet at work goes up to the end of November.

Anyway, I expect there will be Things To Sort Out (and you still end up sorting them at the last minute!)   ;D

If I had a baby elephant, it could help me wash the car. If I had a car.

Bad news: Ended up having to stay 40mins late at work so didn't have time to weightlift this evening (though I can go tomorrow instead).

Good news: I still managed to fit an hours OU study in rather than going straight on the 'puter.

Good news: we have places at the same schools for Miss Dans Younger and Elder. It is a nice school. We can walk there.
Bad news: first day at school ever for Miss Dan the Younger is now today rather than next week. My careful scheduling of work trip away to be around has failed - she's at school and I'm on another continent.

Bad News: infestation of mice needing mouse bait etc, and I forgot my panniers to carry stuff so I couldn't carry my lock so I couldn't stop off and buy stuff in Homebase on the way home. Mehhhh.

Good news: A bike fits nicely into the Homebase board carrier trolleys, so you can push it around instead of locking it up.  ;D ;D

Good news: NFL games are once again being broadcast over the intertubes without having to pay for the privilege.

Bad news: the broadcasts now include all the commercials (previously these were not transmitted).

Bad news : The Texaco petrol station:300 metres from home: has changed
owner/franchise so my regular copy of Cycling World is not,at best, forthcoming in the near future. At worst the new "owner" may not bother with such things?

Good News: I could order a copy from the newsagent at Catchems Corner which would require a round trip of approx 12km.

Where?

I went direct to my team's site to check how the game was progressing and noticed a link to a live feed from the local radio station that carries the games.

Bad news: Curious metallic 'clunk' from outside this afternoon turned out to be the top half turn of one of the coil springs on the car snapping and falling to the ground.
Good news: It didn't happen while we were on holiday last week 200 miles from home.

It depends on what you think about clothes shopping and about getting a job!  Summer is over, so the riding is winding down now anyway...

Good: I went to a gig last night, had lots of beer and fun.
Bad: My 50-year-old body can't stand two hours of mosh pit action & copious beer without complaining vociferously the next day.

Bad: the decorator rounded of the screws holding the kitchen door

Good: he didn't do them up very tightly. No blood or expletives were deployed

Bad news: my son fell ten feet out of a tree he was working on because he'd strapped himself onto an ivy-covered dead branch, which gave way.

Good news: he landed flat on his back - badly winded but no bones were broken

Very good news: a valuable lesson has been learned, probably in the only way that actually penetrates the skull of fit, cocky young men.

Phew.
