Take it easy and don't worry.  One of the TdF bods lost 3 months after having a finger chopped off earlier this year, and he's in the pack.
I tried doing that yesterday, but with hedge-cutters rather than bikey parts.     Aiiiieeee!

Thanks ladies.  Just got a bit of a gash through the pad - quite deep, but it's clean(ish) and there's nothing missing so it should knit back together quite well.

Narsty. Our Buddleia fights back as well, but usually with a wet flower-head down the back of your neck.

Back for a minute to the pre-metrication: I noticed yesterday my Madison touring shorts, which I bought new in 1986 or v. close (certainly the oldest item of clothing I have, probably the oldest thing I have that was new when I got it, possibly even the first item of clothing I ever bought (teenage cycle nerd :o), have their washing label in fahrenheit.

Two months now since my last decent ride before severe angina stopped me, one month since attempts to stem it with divers vasodilators failed, two days before I go into hospital for an angioplasty and there's flu in the house with a good chance of me catching it ==> postponement.  Bollocks.

I would leave home!

Now 2 weeks since my injury and surgery and I feel more tired and weaker than I did last week!  I think the reality of the injury and the post adrenaline reaction is really kicking in!

So to finish things off, I am sitting waiting for my clinic appointment when the phone rings.  My wife has been in an accident, car not drivable but she is unhurt thankfully.

Some are accident-prone, others are just prone.

I'm into hosp Thurs pm for tests before my angioplasty Friday morning.  I didn't think I'd be nervous, but...

I suspect those who post to this board and this thread might just be unrepresentative of the forum as a whole...

Whee doggy. Artery was 100% blocked, but brilliant surgeon lady blasted through (heparin?) And shoved in a stent. Wound took ages to staunch afterwards, nurses taking it in relays. Ok now.

Gasping for a coffee.

Thks again all for good wishes.

I'm not old enough for base 12 money, but do remember the old two shilling pieces used as tenpence.

The one that got me confused was going to Germany aged 7, coming back aged ten and finding twenty pence pieces and pound coins being used. First time relative gave me a pound to get some sweets I had no idea what it was.

Oh my goodness, how on earth where you still going?  Good to hear it worked. You sure it was a surgeon and not dyno-rod?
