Côtes du Rhône? C'est passé...

Essex is now clearly leading the world when it comes to booze. For years we have produced the best of ales in Crouch Vale Brewer's Gold, which is my view, although a superb pint, is eclipsed by Maldon Gold, from about 5 miles up the road. Now we learn that Essex-grown grapes are capable of producing a 14.7% strength wine.

I'm just going to go into the garden to plant truffles. Do you think it will matter if I pick the chocolate coating off first?

Pinot noir is rubbish though (I don't do subtle)
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Pinot Noir is not used in Cotes du Rhone. It is primarily Grenache and Syrah.

Pinot noir features in Burgundy...which, of course, can be some of the best wine in the world. And Champagne...

Yes I know that. I mentioned it because it is referred to in the link address.

I've yet to have a decent English red. Its pointless...needs another 50 years of climate change.

Within a mile of me is a vineyard that produces 'award winning' Sauvignon Blanc. I bought a case in the summer and it really is excellent. Dry and flinty, like a decent Pouilly Fumé.

Which, if the UK needed an enema, is where the tube would go.

Stanley has recently been 'rona central here in the North East; it was certainly a prime site for the Gov's "State pension reduction scheme" in the first wave where they (deliberately?) infected all the care homes with the 'rona.
