iTunes lost on PC
« on: 15 August, 2011, 09:45:56 pm »
Son's hard drive gone on his PC and has had to be replaced. No back up of iTunes so now only has songs on his iPod.

Can he get them back into iTunes on new hard drive on PC?

Probably an easy answer but I'm not sure.

Thanks.

Itunes will sync the ipod with the PC. You may want to turn off auto sync first though.

Yes-I had this when I got my Mac...I used the iPod to repopulate iTunes on the new computer  :)

Apple has some exact how to's on their helpsite...my bb is too slow to search for it now but it's not that complicated

Try googling "copy iPod to computer"

I haven't needed to do this so first of all turn of automatic synch. Should be an option the first time that you connect the iPod.

When it works please buy m external he'd for backup

Thanks.  Had a Look at some options.  "I'll shut this now the horse is long gone" springs to mind.

Backup HD coming and a bit of time on the PC required.  Fingers crossed we don't delete all!
