Nikon D40 and air rifle and a home made high speed flash

Has anyone else seen these pictures. The guy made his own high speed flash for about £200 apparently. I particularly like the Christmas bauble one.

They are very impressive - I did something similar as a Physics/Photography project 36 years ago. Slightly less high tech!
