Well, looking at it from the glass half full perspective, you're here to tell the tale, thankfully. GWS. My mum was in intensive care Heartlands last year and was very well looked after. I'm sure you will be too. Keep us posted.

Ouch GWS. :o

But as AWL says, at least you are around to tell the tale.

Maybe 40mph was pushing a bit hard ;)

Best wishes, matey.
Don't worry, you're in good hands.  There is life (and riding) after heart surgery.  I'm living proof.

Is that Heartlands, Brum?
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

At least I now know that tight bib short shoulder straps weren't the cause.
I wish I had details of the delivery driver who took me and bike home without a second thought. Van had something like digital media on the side.

Sorry to hear about the heart, I hear Heartlands is a fantastic hospital and it sounds like you're getting the best care.  Look after yourself and don't be afraid to ask for people to do nice things for you over the next few months of recovery.

Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. I was thinking what my next goal would be, and hey presto I think I know. I'm okay but it must be horrible for family and loved ones.

Ouch! But 1, (& most importantly) you're able to tell us, 2, at least you did it in style, & 3, you couldn't be in a better named hospital for cardiac care.

GWS, and take care of yourself. Your family will be able to celebrate birthdays and stuff with you when you're better. It can wait!
