Dear Jhon,
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

npower sent me an estimated bill, to be paid by direct debit

They also sent a letter saying I needed to read my meter, in order for them to check if I was on the best tariff. I did, although I admit I did it rather belatedly (partly becuase they wanted me to read it once in the morning preferably after 9am and once in the evening before 9pm. As I leave for work at 7.45am, and haven't been home at weekends for months, the former was tricky. In the end I had to read it when I could and send an explanatory note)

Anyway, having sent this info in, they sent an "amended bill" about a month later (for half the amount - yay!).

They've taken both amounts...

So now I have to badger them...

The rule with npower is never to let them estimate your bill, as they seem to use a random number generator to do that.  It's all been pretty painless since I started obsessively sending them meter readings.

I always used to - they sent me a reminder by email, I did a reading and entered it online and got a correct bill. For some reason, they've stopped sending the reminder, so the first I know is when the bill is ready. I suppose I can send a meter reading straight away when I get the bill, but I'm moderately useless at it!

Windows 7 UAC.

(sigh)

So, my login is a member of the local Administrators group, but Visual Studio 2010 can't register an assembly because of "Access Denied" errors to the registry. Really?

So - I guess being an Administrator is not enough. I'm not seeing the "Deity" group, which I presumably need to be a member of to get this shit to work .

NSAIDs I've been using for severe period pain aren't working as well as they did 6 months ago by a long shot, back taking silly codeine and still in sillypain.   Back to the GP I go I guess and see what ideas she has.  Whoever designed this system should be made to suffer it at its worst.

Bought a chest of drawers at Ikea this morning. Assembled it almost completely. The pre-drilled holes for the screws to hold the knobs on the drawers aren't drilled adequately and I can't get the screws into them. I've tried with the electric screwdriver, and they just won't go. So I have a chest of drawers I can't open.  ::-)

Oh well, it's only got bobb's stuff in it. If he wants to get his stuff out, he can help me sort the knobs.  ;D

Corkscrew would be too big, I think, and I don't have a drill.

I either use my electric screwdriver or I don't make holes in things. I'm not the sort of person to be trusted with powertools, to be honest. It wouldn't end well.

I've got a terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side..... :(

Actually it's my left side neck/shoulder & arm.  Possibly caused by slumping in a funny position on last nights train home from London.   Self medicating with Aussie Shiraz  :P

Came in at 0715 for videocon with Stavanger. The water heater obv doesn't come on that early because my shower at work was cold!
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

The flu-like symptoms I was suffering from on Friday, & which were greatly reduced & diminishing on Saturday, have returned with full force. Shivery & shaky & achy & shit.

Orange! How hard would it be to show the actual price of something on the web site? Quite hard it seems.

Instead of "From £9.99", you could put the proper price there, or a range. Instead of expecting your customer to put the phone and the contract into their basket, and then find out that the actual price of the phone is over £500. Quite a difference there.

My GPs have yet again failed to consult the FNRttC calendar when scheduling their flu vaccination day.  Last year I had no symptoms from it whatsoever, but the year before it made me feel rubbish for the rest of the day.  I suppose I'll have to book a nurse appointment to be on the safe side.

Dear The Mayor of London,

Please to be extending the bicycle hire scheme in a southerly direction.  There are people who would like to use them beyond SE1.

As far as the 'Mare of London is concerned, there's Wandsworth, a load of Plebs (TM), then Surrey and safe Tory seats.
Getting there...

Technically, no.  It's either Surrey or Kent.  Those who have ridden my TPM have seen the riverside plaque marking the border.  :smug:

As for who lives south of the river, I thought you lot were mostly prols, not plebs. ;)
