I'll be @ the J&J (aka the soon-to-be-a-morrisons-local) at 7:40 tonight for my first ride of over 1.5 miles since my fracture (not counting the ride home immediately after crashing).

Now I just need to decide which bike to bring....  The wussy part of me thinks gears might be in order, but the rest of me is thinking I should get back on the same steed as I crashed on.... decisions, decisions... My wrist feels pretty much back to normal now, except for the very occasional twinge, so I'll probably plump for the day01.  If I don't then it'll be a slower ride on the Globe since it has mudguards and the Felt doesn't.

Sounds good to me ....I'll head out about the same time, to meet you on Huggy's route around half-way-ish. Probably somewhere between Lt Waltham and Boreham?
My military precision guess work estimates route timings to be:
Boreham Six Bells @ 8:15
Little Waltham White Horse (closed) @ 8:35
Axe & Compasses @ 9:15
plus or minus 5 minutes (more plus if Oaky opts for wussy)

Yes, I will be too.  The BRT comedy off roading segments that haven't been filtered out of the route will be ignored!

I expect us to be intercepted by a work colleague somewhere between Pleshey and the A&C who will be out on his new Flitchbikes supplied Merida road bike.

A very nice spin.  Not too cold although a bit of rain on the return journey.  It was good to meet Huggy's colleague, I'm sure given time we can convert him into a cyclist.

The Axe is a great pub, but ...

3 x grapefruit and lemonades   ::-)

Just under 47 miles for me including a quick warm up before I met Huggy.

So was it total abstinence last night or were there some who broke the current Mid Essex prohibition laws?

Tomsk and Huggy's colleague were on the beer.  No doubt much to the relief of the A&C landlord.

So does that mean that one of the G&L's was for Oaky?  :o

Yes.  Incredible but true.  I think he went through the full range of fruit juices available.

I had grapefruit juice and orange juice plus a gin and tonic without the gin.  I shall be immune from scurvy and malaria for some time.

Mind you, both Huggy and I commented that you were rather slow on the way home.  Clearly you were lacking some Essex energy drink.

Given that for almost the first time ever after a memwns, I woke up on Thursday with a headache, I thoroughly expect to contract both malaria and scurvy by the end of the month.
