He looks very nice, Greg! Jack Russells are the best. Hope he settles in well :)

I've always liked Jack Russells.  Jon wanted some pure breed spaniel type thing - but I presuaded him otherwise.

He looks a fine little chap.  Is he smooth haired? All of the Jack Russels I've ever known have had a rougher coat.

He's going to need a lot of exercise and possible some obedience classes.  Good luck with him, he should make a fine companion.  I like Jack Russels, they seem to be small, but very energetic and smart dogs.

He's described as 'brindle coated' but he seems fairly smooth - but he's also moulting like mad at the moment.  There's dog hair everywhere!

He's due to have his knackers off in a couple of weeks, at which time he should calm down a bit - and then he'll be ready for some obedience training.

He had his first day on his own today - it was only 5½ hours but he coped OK.  There were no messes waiting when I got home, although he went straight into the garden and marked everything in sight...  ;D

He’ll moult like mad most of the time, if our ones were any guide!

That’s pretty good that he’s ok on his own - a big worry when considering getting a dog.

Jack is not a happy boy...

He's off to the vet today and he's had nothing to eat or drink.  He had a short walk this morning, when he wasn't allowed off the lead in case he found something to eat, and now he's sitting staring at me with an accusing look as I haven't fed him (he normally gets fed after his morning walk).

He won't be happy with me when he finds out what's happening later!  He'll be coming back from the vet minus two things he is very fond of.

Not happy?

I'd be bloody furious if I was taken out for a ride in the car and came back a several of hours later with an unemployed tongue :o

We've tried him without it - but he insists on licking the wound.  So the Cone of Shame has to stay...

Do they flavour tablets for dogs with anything?

Jack's on Metacam and he wolfs them down - no problems.

He is such a cute little chap. I am sure he is plotting to get revenge for the loss of his crown jewels once he gets that cone off.

Adorable though.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Yes. They are reputed to be 'palatable' for dogs. In my house that is a broad term that would include any thing in my fridge along with anything even vaguely edible. The TV remote control would also qualify.

More of a gratuitous dog video. Google the Cockapoo loves to jump. You will have to forgive the drastic haircut I gave him just before this was filmed!
