My old, but perfectly functioning HP flatbed scanner will have to be replaced as it isn't compatible with windows vista on my new computer.
These things seem to have gone out of fashion and I can no longer get one from a local shop. Can anyone recommend a (cheaper end) flatbed scanner which has a removable lid. I need to be able to remove the lid to scan paintings on canvas. The manufacturers' websites are terrible and don't say whether the lids can be removed or not. I've spoken to HP who say that the scanjet G2710 and G3110 can do this, but I'm not sure that they're correct as they seem to have buttons on the lids.
Does anyone out there have a currently available, Vista compatible flatbed scanner they can tell me does or doesn't have a detachable lid.
