Unsuitable rides
« on: 15 October, 2010, 01:42:30 pm »
Each year, the local steiner school (where my wife works) runs a mass bike ride for the kids, raising money for schools in africa. They don't ride far, but at least it's something.

Every year, teachers and staff have to check the bikes before the kids set off. People have arrived on bikes with flat tyres.

This year, 5 turned on on BMX bikes. With brakes removed.  I blame the parents.

4 replacement bikes were found, and 4 very grumpy boys had to work hard to catch up with the rest.  ;D
