Alternative coast to coast routes
bikenerd:
I'd like to do a coast to coast ride this year but I'd like it to be longer than the ~2 days it'd take me to do the classic Cumbria -> South Shields route. Getting up to Cumbria or Newcastle from Oxford is a pain as well.
So, any suggestions? Preferably starting south of Birmingham and involving some Welshness, with the start and finish accessible by public transport!
(Don't ask for much, do I? :))
Ian H:
Yarmouth - Aberystwyth might yield a decent route.
mattc:
I was speaking to an old nutter at last night's TT who did Aber-Yarmouth. (Lovely bloke who is also my only contender for the club 24HR record). He didn't have a detailed review of it, but I could probably ask him if you're really desperate.
pcolbeck:
Brighton - Durness ?
Should take a few days :)
Polar Bear:
I would think Barmouth to Yarmouth would be interesting. Both accessible by rail.
