Unfortunately The Hemmel Cafe in Allenheads is currently closed for an indefinite period.
This potentially impacts on the below events. If you've entered the Allenheads 100km (29/5) or the Four Tops 200km (14/9) I've sent you an email.
Summary of changes below or see the relevant AUK calendar event page. The revised versions of the events should all still work very well, albeit with some changes, some small changes but some bigger ones. Still hopefully a good day out for all. They're all currently open for entries and offer the usual good value type 2 Audax fun.
Wednesday 29 May - These events are now called the Rookhope 100km and Rookhope short route instead of the Allenheads 100km and 64km short route - both events will now start and finish in Rookhope. Hopefully this will avoid any confusion. The route won't change much but you'll get the gentle climb of Rookhope Head at the start instead of at the end.
Saturday 6 July - Chapel Century 161km/100 miles - there's a slight change to the route, mainly after Middleton in Teesdale. I've got a cunning plan for a replacement for The Hemmel Cafe on the route but that's still under negotiation so I'll update entries nearer the time but it should make for a very good event. It'll still start and finish at the Chatterbox Café in St Johns Chapel. The Chapel Chase route isn't affected.
Saturday 14 September - Four Tops 200km - there's a significant change to the route at the start and between Yad Moss and Allenheads. It's virtually the same distance, amount of climbing and AAA points but should make it a much better option. Still not an easy day but if you want an end of season challenge! The Three valleys route isn't affected other than there's nothing between Blanchland and Allenheads.
