Title: Landmarks
Post by: AAO on 14 March, 2014, 07:36:06 pm
This week I passed two landmarks.

As I have said in other threads I had a heart attack at the age of 59 a few years ago after a lifetime of smoking and doing virtually no exercise during a sedentary adult life. I have subsequently had several operations for other health issues - some of them major procedures.

This week was the 7th anniversary of my heart attack. This week I passed 22,000 miles of cycling and have exceeded 1.1 million feet of climbing. To make sure that these milestones were managed THIS week, I've cycled 171 miles and climbed 14,500 feet since Monday.

I am knackered  ;D

What have been your significant landmarks?

Somehow, my first completed Audax ride seemed more significant than the 11,000 miles I rode in each of the following two years.
