If you make the control Rye instead of Peasmarsh, then Mapsource gives 399k
Rye Harbour instead gives 404k
I think Peasmarsh is a proper hall control (was when I rode it in 2002)
Was in 2006 as well.
wan't sure about the Peasmarsh hall for the new improved "does not go to Winchester Tescos outside at 0300" version; I understand the version I rode is no longer viable due to requiring 5 manned controls (Peasmarsh, Ringmer, Chichester, Cranleigh, Wrotham/ Chiddingstone) and was done specially for the CTC National 400 (which I've not heard about since Pam's in 2004)
Actually.......
The ride was a big loop from 96-99. I organised for the first time, as a qualifier, in 99 and it was really hard work having that many 'manned' controls. It was also quite expensive to run. It is by far my favourite route, though.
I changed the route to a figure of eight in 2000 as it was easier to co-ordinate and we could o hot food at the half-way point and still get some sleep. It was a bit cheaper to run as it required less halls.
The big loop was resurrected, briefly, in
2002 for the National, before returning to a figure of eight route.
We used to control at the Stand Cafe in Rye, but they decided to shut half way through the control once, so we moved up the road to Peasmarsh for the
2002 version. The route in and out is a bit better/quieter and we have a group of volunteers down there.
