This so much.

There was no limit to the Autobahn (did you see what I did there?) or so I thought - we polished off the last barrel :demon:

Indeed. We should be very hoppy the Fox had the license and drive to offer a ride on the Autobahn
to us driven cyclists. Better that than being offered a pot of crack… :D

By popular demand, Audax Club Hackney LTotMD will be held at The Pride of Spitalfields, Hackney, for the 2nd month in a row. Join us on the 30-Jul-2015 after work for the perfect PBP warm-up. ESB at 3.50 a pint and plenty of free cycle storage and piggy scratchings, then ride-a-kebab-home through the moonlit city streets.
This month sees the unveiling of the all new Audax Club Hackney jersey sample (with many refined features such as: buttoned pump pocket (for those LD riders that ride club rides as well), reinforced triple-pocket seams, stash pocket, and... wait for it... detachable arm warmers!). Come and check the Rapha, but made in the UK, quality and place your order.

I'm going to go for a pair of ESB's before I chow down on a salmon and broccoli big one

Hmm this must be the only time I don't like not living in London. Perhaps I'll make a visit to the MiL one day... (perhaps not) ;O)

Certainly not, it was a stag
-
Really not sure I dare ever make the journey east again. At least I escaped before the deer shagging, police and Gadge doing himself a mischief.
-
The police were really nice - Gadge was fine after Krad & Agi swiftly went to his rescue - we walked home afterwards. Bonus of being in a local club!
The deer on the other hand, was trashed

I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to audax drink thingies, but surely it can't count as a success if someone is posting about it before 8am the next morning?

I posted it whilst I was just stumbling out of the final club of the evening, having spent the night snorting nose candy off the claspers of a shark whilst bearded men dressed in space blanket nappies and stag antlers performed an interpretive dance routine inspired by the triple food queuing system at Brest.
Quiet night out really.

Cheers for last nights pagan ceremony at 'The Hand of Glory' folks - it was great to indulge in some ritualist abuse and we also got to meet some new sacrafices

I am annoyed to not have made it last night, especially if there was ritualistic abuse. Got stuck working until nearly 10.

This month's installment will be held at The Cock Tavern - only ale and pickled eggs sold in this one and only real money accepted. As always with us anyone and everyone is/are invited. Please join us for super cycle related drinking in the heart of Hackney
-
I may be interested in The Cock.
H
-
I sometimes go for one in the Cock after work - it's just in front of the office at the Hackney Service Centre behind the Hackney Town Hall and next to the Hackney Empire. The pub has a micro-brewery down below which brews 'Howling Hops' ale which is then pumped directly up-top. The last time I went for one in the cock I ended up opting for a few in the Cock instead - I counted upwards of 18-ales on tap - Ice Cream Ale, Gamma Ray, 2 or 3 types of IPA, Pale Ales... it's fcuking ace! There is also a plethora of pickled eggs in a cornucopia of flavours. The bar staff have really long beards but that doesn't seem to stop them from serving you pork scratchings.
-
What you have described is a full-on Cock experience.
H

There has been some interest in ACH merch of late. All formats (except the jersey to non-members) will be available at the evening - this includes:

The Cock is actually quite small but packs a powerful and memorable punch - It's not just size that matters you know.
Is it?

It's about 12 inches (on the A-Z), or just follow the purple line ( on your GPS).

As always, everybody and anybody welcome. You don't have to be part of a spunky London based long distance cycling outfit to join us for cycle related chat, lashings of real ale and pickled eggs and cock-fighting
-
Made up for the beers I missed on Saturday. :)
-
This months beer will be flowing from The Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington High Street after work and beyond. This pub is a gem and has visible cycle storage all around it. The beer and cider are world class and come in many varieties. Punk IPA on tap as well as full range of 5-Points. The pub also offers many intersting ciders of varying strengths as well as many cask ales.
All welcome to join us for pork scratchings related chat and bike
-
These evenings do sound like a lot of fun, I must put in an appearance one day...
-
This month's session will be held at The Pride of Spitalfields - same rules as always
This pub is ace; especially in summer. ESB for 3.50 a pint and plenty of lamp posts to lock your hipster sleds - I can't wait to show you my new one!
Beer ahoy

This month's installment will be at The Fleetwood Arms - it's a Fullers Bar with a reserved ACH section.

As always, everybody is welcome ;)

will there be an instalment of this useful training session next Thursday, and would it be acceptable to flog off a few books for charity?
-
After a hiatus in August, this will be happening on Thursday 29th September at the Clapton Hart (http://claptonhart.com).
Authors are permitted to sell their own books, though I'm not sure how many takers there will be for Cornell's Ocean Atlas (http://cornellsailing.com/publications/cornells-ocean-atlas/).

Hello folks
Thanks to all who devoted so much of their 'last Thursday of the month' towards drinking ales and eating chorizo and prune sausage rolls. Great to see some new faces as well as the usual miserable old ones. ;) miserable old one T'was another top night with a more than commendable attendance. A big thank you also to Kingston Wheelers Finest Audax writer and publisher The Right Honourable Laid Back Rich for his good cheer and signed copies of his coveted book.
Here's looking forward to the next top night in another Hackney boozer. Please remember that all are invited; just bring enough locks; great big shiny ones
-
Happy New Year folks
This months installment will be at the Prince George in Dalson, Deepest Darkest Hackney
As always, anyone and everyone are welcome. If you've been thinking about joining ACH or are alreday in a club an like th eidea of drinking related cycle chat to while away the miserable weather, there's always lots of cheer to be had in Hackney's finest watering holes. Then ride a kebab home and spend Friday staring out of the window at work - th eperfect prepartioin for the weekend!

-
Will try to swing by for one and to pick up my ACH cap as this is on my commute.
Also, I wanted to ask the ACH crew if there are any plans - or interest in planning - an AC Hackney LEL team or two? Would certainly be up for this.
-
What sort of time should people get there?
-
At beer o'clock.
-
We certainly do have plans to get as large a rangale of ACH over the finnish line - The Mighty Bristols pipped us at the post on PBP but I'm confident that we'll give those Wurzle slackers a run for their money this time round; this is proper British Cycling afterall ;)
PS We always arrive at Last Thursday of the Month Drinks - if you lare lucky enough to work locally and knock off early you'll normally catch a few of us proping up the bar whenever you arrive
-
this is proper British Cycling afterall ;)
Not sure I like the sound of that, do you "run by men, for men"? Or do you mind collecting a package from the snooker club next to the Salisbury and bring it across town, no need to check its contents...
-
Annother Top night folks - very pleasing turnout too, despite the biting cold. Next time I'm going to wear some thicker socks.
The Vedet Extra White Beer provided the perfect foundation for a a brief 'n' brisque stop off at Chicken Ways on the return journey to Castle ACH HQ Inc. The Stag's Head. I'd like to call it 'Cock au Biere' but I am prevented from doing so becuase of the first rule of Audax Club Hackney being 'Never talk about, write about or photograph food.'
-
Thanks very much to everyone who braved the cold to make this years' first LTotM Drinks such a cordial and rewarding occassion. It was great to see the some new faces who still have happy partners and active social lives. It was also great to see the same old tied and haggered faces with angry partners and no interest in anything else except which hub to choose next and waht do we callour Arrow team and shall we pick straws for who's geting the crib in the Travel Lodge room for the next ride and Anakin Eflingham was born in 1991 ;)
-
Sorry to have missed it. All I can offer are apologies and crap excuses.
-
Hello Folks
this month's ale-frenzy will be held at The Shakspeare on Shakespear Walk, Stoke Newington, Hacknety and no, we haven't spelt the Shakspeare's incorrectly - the typos celebrate the writers blatant disregard for spelling - he spelt his name in 7 different ways you know?! We digress. Come along and teather your iron horse to the borough's largest iron railings, sample the many flavoursome ales, gaup at the spartan victorian decor, marvel at the best duke box this side of Nagasaki and then join in with the crapping on about bikes...
See you in the Shaky ;)
ACH
-
Excellent choice of venue, Sir! They even offer en suite bicycle parking.
-
Tonight will represent our first spin at the Chesham Arms in Homerton. Bring your bike and your drinking trousers. Prefferable worn back to front ;)
-
Hope the night was good, not been to Chesham for many a year, was always cool. One day I will join the folks of ACH on a Thursday beer, cheers.

Hello Folks
Thanks to all those who turned up to make this a seasonal kick-off a pre Spring bonanza jamboree of an even.

Enjoy your time in LaGa-land folks - I will sadly not be present this month. Bloody honeymoon' s got in the way. I will be sure to see you all next time when I resume the monthly visit to cyder-space.
PS I think you'll find that Hummers' glasses start to steam-up after the 9th pint.
The last time I saw him he was out cold in a room full of men, prone on a li-lo wearing a super-hero eye mask; a bit like like the first time I saw him but without the li-lo

Hello folks. After last months swell turnout it's time to prepare the kidneys for this months' instalment.
ACH October Fest will be held at 'The Alma' in Newington Green, Hackney of course. This smashing watering hole has recently had a revamp. I've researched and the test results were positive.
Come and join us. Again, you don't need to be in ACH to join in the fun but it does help.

For the second time ever ACH 'last Thursday of the month' drinks is heading south of the river, this time to the renowned hostelry of the Dog and Bell, Deptford, SE8 3JD. Likely topics of conversation to include Easter Arrows and Borders of Belgium, as always prospective and non-members welcome.
As a bonus, now appears to coincide with their Burns Night offering:

Thursday 31st May
ACH's last Thursday of the month drinks
The Kings Arms (as featured in The London Craft Beer Guide and Garrett & Evans (2018)
11a Buckfast St
Bethnal Green
That London
E2 6EY
www.thekingsarmspub.com
Tucked behind the vibrant but grimy Bethnal Green Road you won't find any city suits or yuppy families at this bar. Even the thick-rimmed goggles of the beer geeks seem equally out of place at first. Where most pubs nail their craft colours to the mast, The Kings arms hides them well. The long line of taps are unmarked; most punters walk straight past the rarities fridge on the way to the loo and the beer list on the wall looks more like a church hymn board.
But underneath its disguises, this pub takes beer very seriously indeed. If there's an exciting tap takeover happening in London, most bets would be it happening here.

Hello everyone
It's almost the end of August, so time for last Thursday of the month drinks 🍻 I'm guessing there'll be a lot of chatter about PBP.
This month's pub of choice is The Greenwich Union on Royal Hill, SE10 8RT. It's a Meantime Brewing pub, but they also have other stuff in bottles.
It's less than a 10 minute walk from Greenwich DLR / main line station and similar distance from the Greenwich foot tunnel.

Unfortunately I have to be away for family stuff but Brad will be looking after you (assuming he's woken up after PBP😅).
