Up for sale is my Metabike recumbent. This is one of several I have owned, and definitely my favourite. Up for sale now as I am looking at a velomobile. The frame is aluminium, nice and stiff, and very fast. I’m just an average cyclist, and I could average 20mph on this machine. The best thing about it is that, for a recumbent, it can go fast uphill as well as down! It is of course very comfortable, the ventisit seatpad is almost brand new, and sits on a carbon fibre seat.
The frame is very versatile and you can fit 700c, 26” and 20” wheels on it, as well as rim or disc brakes. I have run it with both 700c and 26”. The rear brake bridge is reversible, and the rear dropout width is 132mm so can accommodate both 130mm road wheels as well as 135mm MTB wheels. I am 5’9” and the frame will adjust many inches either way. The seat has three positions, and the boom can adjust in and out.
I built it up to be fast and light. The wheels are a 1500g pair of Pave 28’s with 25mm Conti GP4000s tyres and conti tubes. The shifters are 10 speed Ultegra with shimano brakes. The chainset is Shimano 105 (165mm – ideal for a recumbent), 105 long cage rear derailleur, Ultegra front derailleur, 105 10 speed cassette and shimano Ultegra chain.
Also included is a custom neck rest (adjustable and removable), a custom made twin bottle holder (I have removed the cages), and a German made seat back bag which is very roomy.
All in all a superb recumbent with very little miles, built up with new components, fast and light.
The bike will fit on a standard car bike rack.
Delivery / courier etc. can be arranged, please message me to discuss.
I’m sure I’ve left stuff out, so please message me with any questions. Have loads more pictures too.
