Historic England have taken steps to preserve this rare unidentified structure of uncertain purpose, which is of great national historic and architectural significance, as members of the public were causing damage to it by using it as a shelter from rain and wind while making phone calls.

I saw that when it was broadcast on BBC2 in 1981,  I was 16.   Pure coincidence that I ended up working for BT.....
