I'm trying to recognise the bridge.  It's possible that Debbi Did Bristol.  Mind you, Dan doesn't quite sound the gentleman, although he has a keen eye for pointless revenge.

Must be a different bridge. The padlock/slavery aspect is a new one on me but I remember the Pont Des Arts in Paris, where this all started, was considered to be at risk of collapse due to the weight of all that brass.

I think it's the bridge from the Tate to St Pauls looking back at the Tate

I think the padlock bridge is Wilford Suspension Bridge in Nottingham.
