Only 12 miles of headwind left to go (and 100km of rain)

Shelter from the storm (at Luskentyre)

305km in 16h 55m. Left Stornoway at 6.00am, crossed Barvas Moor in the dark and got to the Butt of Lewis before 8.00am. Great views to the mainland and thought I was in for a good day. Slight headwind down to Callanish (103km in 4h 45m). From Acha Mor the cloud came in and showers to Kershader (141km in 7h 5m). The cafe was closed so stopped for soup at the Loch Erisort Inn then southwards into the wind and rain to Harris. Strong, gusting winds over the Clisham and needed lights as it was clagged in with mist. Onto Tarbert (food stop at Airdashaig stores) and a wet blustery ride to Rodel (209km in 12hrs). Constant rain back to Tarbert, but a tail wind for most of it. Stopped for a rest/snack at Luskentyre and again in Tarbert. I needed lights from about 7pm, crossing the Clisham in the dark. Gusts were so strong leaving Airdashaig for the climb to the quarry that I got off and walked (and still managed my 3rd fastest ascent according to Strava). Dark wet ride back to Stornoway arriving back in town at 10.55pm :)

With some of those place names you could call it the Flowerpot Men 300?
It is simpler than it looks.
