Is the water pump one with plastic impellers?

I am not sure, I shall try and find out after tea.

ETA: Looking at the four pumps available on EuroCarParts, the three aftermarket ones appear to be metal but the 'OE quality' one looks to be plastic.

Remember that some of the citroen and some pug water pumps, of that era, are plastic and others arent.  No idea why.

Amazing the stupid things that I know.

I'm borrowing the Game of Thrones books from a colleague. I returned the first five to him a week ago and he said it would take a while to get the rest to me as someone else has them. So I reserved some library books, which have all arrived on the day my colleague brought me his books. *gets reading*

My Boss is working his way through the Clan of the Cave Bear series and has got me hooked too.

The books, like Harry Potter, get thicker and thicker.

I read very fast.

He is very dyslexic.

We've reached a bit of a logjam at book 5....

Surely that's when you both read at the same time, swapping seats as you overtake him and then you can leap onto the next books...

That's what i used to with my childhood friend who we now know to be dyslexic ;D

Interesting idea. But I'm not sure, lovely as he is, that I want to spend all my evenings with him!

Nah, it's when you purloin the volume they're stuck on, and read faster than ever before until you're able to slip it back into their desk or schoolbag briefcase, whistling innocently.

Either that or just move onto the next book, glossing over the plot developments you've missed and storing up the enjoyment of dawning understanding for later.

I'm not sure I should admit it, but there is often a book in our loo with two or even three book marks in it.

Ordered a CO2 pump in August - Evans phoned today to say that the mail had destroyed the package because they can't deliver because mail goes by plane and they're not prepared to deliver with the surface mail - they didn't even 'return to sender' - ba***rds. Evans kindly refunded the cost. I need to re-order and pay for next day delivery to get it courier delivered.

One of the medications I take for neuropathic pain management is an anti epileptic drug. One of the FOUR A4 SHEETS OF SIDE EFFECTS lists the propensity for middle ear infections to be caused by this drug.  I am now, second time in 3 months, Falling Over Dizzy and deaf as a deaf thing in my left ear apart from the times I can hear and it's distorted like a cheap speaker turned up to Number 12!
I got on a bus today and the spinny, dizzy wib-wobs made me actually fall off the Bus Seat ???

The hearing in my right ear is already at FAYL Central so I could do without this right now :hand:

Ah. Yes.  I remember riding up that hill on my home to Portlethen with a metric shedload of books on the rear rack and the front wheel was lifting unless I leant very far forward.  Still it is better than the main road south.

Hewlett-Packard broke my printer. Yeah, it was fixable, but why should I need to remove a printer, reinstall the driver, adjust settings & restart the computer just because HP decided to 'upgrade' something relating to a printer they haven't issued a new driver for in this decade?

Sodding weather!

First thing this morning it was cool (not cold, but cool) and damp, due to the thick fog.  Merino base layer and roubaix backed jersey, both long sleeved, were deployed.

Now it's warmed up and is sunny, I'll am going to be leaking like a bad 'un on the way home :(

My plans for an evening out have FAILED.

Getting out when I am home alone is not easy but I usually manage.

First I dropped the remote control gadget for the burglar alarm and had to go back to the kitchen so I could retrieve it with a litter picker.
Then I dropped the house keys and FAILED to pick them up with the litter picker.

Sat down in the wheelchair, opened the front door, picked up keys and awaited cab booked for 18.00
17.58 Automated call 'We are still trying to find a cab. Do you want us to keep trying? (Yes)
18.08 Automated call 'We are still trying to find a cab. Do you want us to keep trying? (Yes)
18.18 Automated call 'We are still trying to find a cab. Do you want us to keep trying? (Yes)
18.28 Automated call 'We are still trying to find a cab. Do you want us to keep trying? NO

Went back into house and switched on computer.

18.31 David sends a text message stating he's on his way to pub I'd intended to visit.
18.48 David phones from pub. Where are you? Did you get my text?

No, I only got text after that phone call...

That's a bit spectacularly rubbish.  Not that either texis or tax messages (typo spoonerism left in, cos it's a good one) are known for their reliability, but still...

I've had several texts spend ages in the ether.

I had decided (around 18.15) to give up if there'd been no cab at 18.28. I'd been sitting in the porch since 17.35.

I hope David had a good meal and rides back here OK. The chain fell off the Brompton as he left the house earlier.

At work, I just had to modify an interconnect board, which various sensors plug into, and in turn connect to the main data acquisition system.

Previously, the Data Acquisition System provided power to the remote sensors.
The newer models do not, and separate power needs to be supplied at the interface board.

I have just done the necessary mods and added the external power supply.
And nothing worked.

The brand new Switch-Mode Power Supply, an RS 'essentials' cheapy, was DoA.
The work required to remove this effing thing is *highly irritating*, requiring as it does, the disconnection of 10,000 wires from screw-terminals.
Will do better testing this time before re-installing the board in it's cabinet.
