Looks like there was a very very tiny amount in leafy Surrey overnight but it's only settled in the flower pots.

Exactly. Sleet is snow that is half melting as it falls, so it soaks you. It's the most miserable of weather to be out it and really dangerous if you aren't dressed to cope with it. Quite different from snow that is melting when it hits the ground.

Been snowing here on the Blackdown Hills, east Devon for a couple of hours.

Not heavy and not pitching

Looks like it will become rain/ sleet later

We did not have sleet, it was very fine snow, not enough to settle

Proper settled snow here, but in two days it should be around 11 degrees and sunny! I am looking forward to that.

Here in leafy bucks we got a smattering overnight, enough to settle on the cars and fence tops. Still drifting desultorily down, but +1 and sliding off the cars now.

I'd arranged a bit of work Buxton way today. It was going to be a maximum of 2hrs, then a few hours with the cameras.

They've shut the road I was heading to so I've had to work all day, the horror :o
