New toy tomorrow
« on: 31 March, 2008, 05:25:59 pm »
After being beaten to a pre lurved Brompton M3L, by Charlotte, at ye olde place, I just couldn't shake off the urge for +1. Last Friday I ordered an M6R and have just received a call to say it'll be delivered tomorrow sometime 'twixt 0900 - 1800.

I'd sort of like a folder, just to look at, or to smugly take on the train.  Mrs Z would kill me, though.

It's a folder, so easily hidden.

Whoo Hoo! It has arrived and is sitting next to me, parked, like a good dog.

Went out and came back, grin factor 5. First time I've ridden a Brompton, bouncy isn't it?

A Jubilee clip around the suspension block tends to reduce the bouncing a bit.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

Brompton Pr0n in the park is here, CLICKY.

Filthy beast  :D

They are bouncy - but imagine how harsh the ride off those little wheels would be without the rubber doofer...

If you find it too bouncy a jubilee clip placed around the elastomer thingy allows adjustment of the level of bounce.
(Google Brompton-elastomer-jubilee clip for plenty examples)

Oops- missed LittleWheelsandBig's post there..

I found that you don't notice the bouncyness after a while.  When I first cycled it, it was really noticeable, but after a few thousand miles of commuting, I utterly failed to notice it, or cycled in such a way that it didn't really bounce as much anymore!
Actually, it is rocket science.
