This is ridiculous:
https://www.redactle.com

Basically, guess the Wikipedia article with all the words blanked out.

I tried it yesterday for the first time, didn't manage to solve it, gave up in frustration. And there's no reveal button, so I'm still none the wiser. Tried it again today, didn't take long to work out the general gist of what the article is about, but did take far, far too long to twig that the head word (what you need to find to "win" the game) was a variant form of a word I'd already guessed.

Not sure I'll stick with this one. Some people I follow on Twitter seem to be quite good at it, I just find it too hard to be satisfying.

That's a neat idea, I quite like it. Though depends on the article, some are rather obscure, or full of specific technical words.
Took me 300 guesses for today's article

And guessing variants of words is kind of annoying. Does have an option in settings to automatically pluralize, which could help a bit.

I'm enjoying it too.

took me a while (maybe ~150 guesses) even though I got most of the major terminology early on.

Today's is much easier. Did it in 46 :smug:.

Getting a bit bored of it now. Might just dip in from time to time when I've absolutely nothing else to do...

16 today. It was an easy one.

My best score so far is 1 (K2), and I got Lord Byron in 7.

39 for me . Having an offspring with a

degree meant I knew some words to throw at it.

I got yesterday's in 16, but I'm not usually that good ::-).

7/7 today. It helped to have a starter of 'sea'.

I DNFd yesterday on something embarrasing over 150, after a good run.

I've been practising using https://www.reddit.com/r/Redactle/comments/vlxws0/list_of_redactle_answers/. Oh, and it helps to be using https://redactle-unlimited.com/ rather than https://www.redactle.com/. Some may call it cheating.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Awesome - I got Differential Geometry in 105 guesses, 67 of which were hits, and James Dean in 3 guesses, all of which were hits.  8)

Impressive. Do you remember your hits for James Dean?

If it starts to go wrong I find I get a bit desperate and Trumpy: Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.

Yeah, I saw that it was a person (because there dates in brackets) so I guessed 'actor'.  Then I noticed that hidden in the first paragraph was "XXXXX Without A XXXXX", so I guessed "James" and "Dean"!
