Hurrah: In spite of Dr Davis' best efforts there is still half a side of smoked salmon left.
Bah: Guess what's for lunch every day until Monday?

BN:
1. Our water pressure is low, & has been for a couple of days.
2. There's a big hole in the road near the entrance to the cul de sac in which we live, so our car is stuck.

GN: The hole is where Thames Water is fixing the leak that caused 1., had broken the tarmac, & flooded half the road.  We reported it about noon.

Unfortunately, when I went back with some coins I found that they'd turned it off while the shop was closed, so it wouldn't dispense.  That did seem to defeat the point of having an auto tube dispenser.   Harrumph.

Where are you in Zurich? I may be able to recommend useful bike shops. Probably not routes, as I haven't been in Zurich over winter.

Thanks.  I'm in the Langstrasse area.  There seem to be a good few bike shops around here.

Bad news.  Didn't leave the house today, not even once.

Good news.  Chest not too bad and haven't needed any Ventolin.

Me neither. It's been miserable outside and I couldn't be bothered even going for a little walk. :-\

GN: I'm working from home today to save the 85 mile each way trip to the office just for one day.

BN: everyone else in my team has taken the day off so there is no one to ask about what's happened over Christmas and what needs looking at.

I'm leading a ride tonight.

The weather forecast is horrible.  :(
We'll be cycling into the wind all the way out.  :(
It'll blow us home.
The publican of the Lyndhurst says because we'll be wet & cold when we get there, he'll turn the heating up ready for our arrival.

Hurrah!  Those nice people at the Mega-Global Sounds Like A Big River Corporation of Seattle, USAnia have just bunged the new Stuart MacBride (The Missing And The Dead) onto my Kindle.
Bah!  I haven't yet read the same author's "The 45% Hangover" which the Mega-Global Sounds Like A Big River Corporation of Seattle, USAnia kindly put there before Christmas, because Greg Iles.

BN:  The Country Girl closes today for a week for a refurb.

GN: They're trying to clear the cellar.  Cask ales had gone down to £2 a pint.  They have now gone down to £1.  :P

BN:  They're closing at 5pm

GN:  They're closing at 5 PM (this could still get messy)
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Maybe he's dressed up as his bicycle and is staying very still in the hope that they'll put him in the cellar for safe keeping during the refurbishment?

Ah.  How sweet!  Thanks for your concern everyone.
Obv I'm not going to admit to riding a bike absolutely pissed on a public forum so, that didn't happen.   :demon:
After this morning's black ice off, I was using the ice bike.1  Happily it seems to know its way home as well as any of the others.
