It seems that Carlsen failed to press home his advantage so the first game ended as a draw.

And game12, the final round at normal time controls, is under way, the previous 11 having been drawn, with mistakes from both sides.

The pundits reckon Carlsen has the edge if he plays 22...Bg6.

Drawn after 31 moves. Penalty shoot-out.

Carlsen goes 1 - 0 up.

Apparently all the draws are because players now learn against computers, rather than with tutors. Therefore there are fewer surprises in matches.

I heard that argument too, but there were also blunders in a number of games which were most un-computer-like. Many people were very surprised when Carlsen offered a draw in game 12 when he had a big advantage in time, and also pressure in the position. But he has taken the tie-break 3 - 0 so he remains champion.
