Having started work early with a call with Hong Kong, I'm currently wondering when I'm going to escape a near-on constant stream of meetings to manage to get a shower.

Signed,

Smelly of Wanstead.

The mothership showers don't work because of the new lido. Fortunately, I get the train in, so only arrive home aromatic.

Just waved goodbye to 1200€: vet's bill for removing dog's spleen.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Thinking about going back to bed.   Yesterday's feeling of recovery must have been a flash in the pan.    I've just had to email the GP asking for a "fit note" :-(

Still a bit of a hypersensitivity cough and nose grot, but I'm mostly recovered. Still a bit knackered in an evening (that might be normal) and have a strange craving for gravy.

GCSE Physics revision with my daughter, they really don't explain some things very well in the textbooks.  I was surprised how quickly my memory of electromagnetism came back though.

Just split the logs from the rather large eucalyptus we cut down last week (it was a beautiful tree for years, but it was definitely dead).  Very hard work.  Eucalyptus twists as it grows, so there is no nice straight grain to cleave along.  You basically whack it hard with a splitting maul and hope it cracks.  Also, it has to be split within a week of cutting or it twists even more, meaning it has to be sawn or split by machine.  Some of the "rounds" were 18" across.

All in the wood store now.  I'll stack it in the corner of the conservatory in the summer and it will be kiln-dried by next autumn!
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

I've just brought in the wood, but I haven't lit the fire yet.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Sitting in the immunology clinic for an hour after my pollen desensitisation injection so that if I have an anaphylactic reaction they have an opportunity to resuscitate me.

Lying on the sofa feeling wiped out. Fondly remembering the days when bed was a futon on the living room floor and not so far to walk.

Sounds about right.   I went to the GP for a check up & another sick note (asked me if I've been to China recently).  Had some blood taken, went home via a cafe & the Co-Op.  Had to have a nap at 16:00 & didn't get up until 20:00.

Sitting here in the house pondering the fact that about 75% of our worldly goods are in a van as part of the move to another house on Monday.    The move gives us a bit more space, fewer staircases but only slightly more bike/workshop space .... but is a way of investing an inheritance that should have a better return that the measly interest rates.

The journey to the new place will be pretty tedious . . . . it's 1.46km as the crow flies  ;D

Last move, 43 years ago, was 15m across the road.

Four Japanese women carried most of the stuff: wife, her two nieces staying with us at the time, and her cousin who was living in London. Later my brother turned up on his bike to help me carry the heavy items.

The proximity enabled me to rewire the house before we moved in. It was an executor's sale, so empty.

Our buyer is still there too!
