KUSP were the band every MP claimed to like when they wanted to look hip. Eventually, this meant that it became truly trendy to say you hated them.  In fact, they weren't bad, but they never got over the experience of being on Anne Widdicome's desert island selection.

Ok, for this one, because I REALLY want to use this band name!) going to use a different quotes page and use the 'quote of the moment' on the homepage.

Band name
Title (courtesy of Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Cover

Nihilist thrash metal outfit, often in the news for drug offences and questionable behaviour with groupies.

To me that feels more like one of those very guitar biased 80s rock style bands with Leather Jackets, white T-shirts and stone washed jeans.

It reminded me of this Stationary Traveller: Camel: Amazon.co.uk: Music (which I bought at the time)   :)
Cycle and recycle.   SS Wilson

Clannad-style vocals merge with Yann Tiersen accordions and piano.  The cover star is the singer and her name is Anoushka.

Interesting one, that ... I was tempted to say that it'd be a dark ambient album *but* no.

I'm thinking that Louisa Island is a singer/songwriter/pianist inna sub-Tori Amos stylee, singing largely semi-autobiographical material but maybe with the odd left-field cover version thrown in (eg. a piano version of Slayer's "Angel of Death"). She *tries* to be like Tori Amos et.al. but isn't quite as talented. Or as good looking1

Great name, great title, a bit hard on Chinese restaurants  ;)

I suppose they sound a lot like Queensryche.  Superannuated metal band from the days of Priest and Sabbath, trying too hard to keep up with newer stuff like Slipknot.

I was thinking more along the lines of Japanese gangsta-rap ...

Does that even exist as a genre?  Goodness.

It's Japan - you know, that country in the Far East which exports cars, consumer electronics and weapons-grade weirdness. Of course the genre exists  :)

The name of the album is, of course, badly translated from the original Japanese.

Look.  Dudes.

Comic Sans MS is not acceptable on an album cover anywhere.

Clearly early 2000s French Feminist Post Punk - think of Stero Total's female voice without any cheesy/ironic synths and a bit more aggression.
Sadly, melancholy doesn't pay my rent.

Exactly.  That's why Keller Fountain Park are universally reviled.  Well, that and the hurdle of their bass player being Brandon Flowers' brother.
