In the run-up to the election, Gordon Brown might have had Jacques Brel's "Les Bigotes" on his playlist. Now? "Le Moribond" or "Ne Me Quitte Pas" would be more appropriate Brel songs for him.

Of course, Clegg's favourite Brel songs would be "Bruxelles" and "La Quete" (known in English as "The Impossible Dream"). Or maybe he and Cameron will be dancing "Le Tango Funèbre" together before the day is out.

Meanwhile, the electorate join in a chorus of "Au suivant!"

HER: One can have a dream, baby
HIM: Two can make that dream so real
HER: One can talk about bein' in love
HIM: Two can say how it really feels
HER: One can wish upon a star
HIM: Two can make that wish come true, yeah
HER: One can stand alone in the dark
HIM: Two can make the light shine through

CHORUS (BOTH):
It takes two, baby
It takes two, baby
Me and you, just takes two
It takes two, baby
It takes two, baby
To make a dream come true, just takes two

The perfect song to mash-up with 'It Takes Two' would be this.
Melodically very similar.

No. You're right. I thought of the ones from NH first, then added the others in without editing properly :-[

In the 30s the total number of Miners Dockers and Railwaymen would have been over 5 million. To get really big numbers in a single sector today we have to look at the NHS, which is why it features so much in manifestos, it's surprising that we don't have folk songs about it, I suppose TV dramas have taken over. The nearest thing to NHS songs would be things like this. http://www.youtube.com/v/29fdVOqraQs&rel=1
It certainly brought a tear to my eye.
