You forgot the attention seeker who runs up the road with the large flag and american football helmet (?) adorned with a variety of horns, but he does make an appearance at the Tour too. Personally I find them all a pain in the whatsit!
If you're trying to get up that stage, without spewing your guts out, or otherwise failing horribly, these people running by the side must drive you up the wall.
Occasionally you'll see someone actually manage to knock a rider off, with this sort of nonsense, and they generally aren't exactly happy about it!
I guess you can't fence off the entire stage up a mountain, but you'd think supposed supporters would have more sense. Maybe you're right, and they're just out to be on TV, regardless of the cost to others.
