Anyone got an EFAW qualification?
« on: 10 September, 2009, 03:03:03 pm »
I'm a first aider in the office and from October as we're a "low-risk business" the training is going to be for the one day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. Currently the training is the four-day First Aid at Work qualification.

So, this is dropping from a four day course to a one day course.

Course content is detailed here:
FAW
EFAW

Does anyone have experience of this qualification and is it as near to useless as it looks? It looks as though common sense would leave you more competent than anything covered by that syllabus.

It appears to be designed for box-ticking so the company can say "we've got people who can fill in an accident report form" rather than a far more useful and general qualification that actually gives a better grounding in first aid which can be applied.
