Gawd that was cold....
« on: 01 December, 2010, 11:41:10 am »
Went out on the Quantocks last night.  -3 in the car-park at 1730 and a howling wind to boot adding a load of wind-chill.

2 'offs' on the ice.  On the return my rear air-shock failed.  Can only assume the cold had the effect of making the 'o' rings more brittle and letting the air escape (think a less drastic version of the challenger 'o' ring failure....).  Seems fine this morning after a night in the house warming back-up.

When i got back Mrs Richie thought i was pissed as i was stumbling over my words.   Couldn't actually move my mouth properly due to the cold!

Almost fun...
Sheep we're off again.

Be careful; drunk-like behaviour is a good indicator of hypothermia!  :o

I was also out last night, on the local hills above the Ebbw Valley. Great fun! Piling full-tilt into a snowdrift and coming to a halt with only the 'bars and saddle showing was probably the highlight!  I few dodgy broadside moments were had, but I managed to keep the rubber side down all the way round.  O:-)
Life is too important to be taken seriously.
