Red wine and cat

If I've spilt some red wine on our neighbour's cat, do I need to put some white on him too to remove said wine?

And I thought it was for slugs. I'm not sure salt will get rid of cats in the same way.

Our cats quite often come in beraing slugs & they have no sign of wine stains on them  :)
