Is it in the same line of work as before?

Nope. Iz using my l33t excel skills.
Nothing hands-on.

is it commute-able by bike?

Yes, AND as No2Daughter was quick to ask, I will still be able to tandem her for the bus.

(Am still doing a happy dance. I haven't done a day's work since the middle of March, and I can't wait to make tea and coffee, be irritated by cow-orkers and earn real ££ rather than sponging off you lovely tax payers!)

That's very good news, Boab! I think I've a pint of beer on the dresser. I'll open it in your honour when it's dinner time.

Yay fboab!

My good news is that thanks to thomtera pointing out the Christmas tickets have gone on sale today for the east coast main line, I've managed to get a return trip Edinburgh-Huddersfield for £57.30. (£38.20 to get there, £19.10 to get back). And bobb's going to come for a couple of days, then come back with me for new year, so I got his ticket too Hudds-Ed for £19.10.

Tickets are selling very quickly. When I first started looking I could get to Hudds for £24.55 and stupidly I didn't put that ticket in the basket, and went to look for return tickets, which involved discussing with nonn about dates, and by the time we'd done that and I'd put those tickets in the basket (that sounds like a peculiar version of Swedish Chef), the cheapest ticket to Hudds was £38.20.  :o It went up £15 in 5 minutes!

My pleasure kirst I am heading to Edinburgh on the 27th Dec hence the reason I was stalking the east coast site, as I managed to get 3 nights for £10 each in the travelodge promotion in July, my tickets also went up whilst consulting with my parents as to what time they were prepared to get on the 27th when I first started looking the 10.30 was £28 each but by the time I had spoke to parents it had gone to £42 so we are leaving Hull at 8.15 instead as its £28, the returns to Hull & Bradford respectively luckily didn't change in the mean time, how to spend £133 in about 10 minutes which think isn't too bad for 3 of use to get to edinburgh & return including the senior discounts for mum & dad.
