My sister had her 12 week scan today and the baby was kicking its legs furiously and doing a head-stand. Everything all good  :)

Have you come across "I Want my Hat Back"?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/I-Want-My-Hat-Back/dp/1406336831/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328717815&sr=8-1

Nephew Max (nearly 2) was given it for Christmas. I love it. It's a very simple tale, with a little bit of repitition on each page, but enough variety o be interesting, and a great slightly dark twist at the end that actually made me laugh out loud.  The illustrations are great too.
If I had a baby elephant, it could help me wash the car. If I had a car.

Never seen it. But the other problem with all those great children's books is... your kids get older and don't want colourful illustrations with simple rhymes anymore.

Yeah, but you can keep them and keep reading them!

I'm a big fan of Oliver Jeffers too. I picked up one of his books once, which wasn't about the little boy, but about a girl who'd lost her grandfather and thereafter kept her heart locked up in a bottle, until the day she met a little girl who helped her get it out of the bottle (I was guessing this meant her own baby).  I had to put the book down very quickly and leave, in order not to be seen crying. The juxtaposition of a fairly heavy tale about loss and recovery, with the simple charming pictures just killed me.

"To be announced" must be a good act  - seems like they've bagged most of the slots already :)

It's been 14 months since it was in a rideable condition, coz of a mis-shapen rear wheel.

Now all I have to do is ride it, which won't happen for a week or so yet

No good news on this forum for 11 days?
Shocking!

I have some today- I done got an appointment for physio on Wednesday for my poor arthritic knee.
That's less than 3 weeks since I saw the GP.
I also have an appointment for the other thing I saw the GP about.

 for the NHS in Suffolk.
