The main sewer has collapsed and is being fixed. A large hole has been dug and men keep climbing in and out of it. It's all very exciting and has implications for our future lentil consumption.

Sure its not SCC installing a TOP SECRET COUNTER INSURGENCY SURVEILLENCE BUNKER?

My new frame has arrived.  Possibly lightest prop stand equipped frame in the world.  I picked up this great Reynolds 953 frame from Argos on Saturday.  Frame fork, headset, wheels stem and prop stand.  Thus equipped I was able to push the bike along to Bristol Temple Meads station. The prop stand is very surprisingly useful when parking an incomplete bike.

Pictures to follow in members bikes when I get some time to build it up. Patience I am very busy so may take over a month.

I 'sold' my old piano. More space in the house and a little beer money.

Today I went to the fat girls clothes shop in town and I bought new jeans.  They are a size smaller that my current jeans.  Which are a size smaller than the jeans that I was wearing this time last year.

This means that it is just about possible my next pair of jeans may not have to be bought in the fat girls clothes shop.

A Nazca Pioneer recumbent fits in the back of a first model Audi TT.

Which means N-1 and some money to spend on chains and travel/stay near brevets.
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. It has been too many days since I have ridden through the night with a brevet card in my pocket...

Is that the Shelford one?  High time then for a Cambridge-ish Yacf pint.  There are several options in the Shelford area.

I never thought that a trip to Ikeahell would feature in the Good News thread, but I'm very pleased for you nonetheless. :)

We have spare rooms (but no beds for them yet) and, if it's a really big meet, we're a couple of hundred yards from a campsite

oops - missed out an 'l'

My brother used to live a few miles away from there. Lots of ambulances dashing up the road.
It is simpler than it looks.

I have finally found a flat I am happy with!!!

Only trouble is that it is "only" 2.63 miles from work, so I will have to take a circutous route to add the miles....

I am absolutly delighted to report that E has successfully defended her PhD thesis (minor corrections; just typos) after a few years, yes, but while in full time employment, with the arrival of our adorable Little G 3 years ago and with me to deal with too... Congratulations for sticking at it but going all the way. Now she's been invited to publish the work... This I'm not sure will happen!
