A couple of weeks ago the seatpost on my Spesh Tricross snapped (where the seat post ended). They're replacing it under warranty and I should have it back shortly. Makes me happy because I'd squished the dropouts a bit and killed the thread in one of the pannier rack lugs. Score.

Normal fixed services will resume shortly. Still need to replace the godawful seatpost though.

I just remembered that I had an envelope in my desk drawer with more than €400 in it, left over from our German trip in the summer.

That will come in handy when we go to Ireland in January for my nephew's wedding.

Glad they got to you!  I particularly liked Zak's picture of your rear wheel.  In case you couldn't read the caption, it was something like 'jogler disappearing too fast to be drawn'  ;D

My little sis is all excited because her significant other has bought her spokey-dokeys to go on the bike that was very kindly donated to her by Tiermat.  And her fairly badly damaged ankle is just about better, so she might actually be able to ride it!

The good news is I went to the cycling club dinner and came home with two trophies

The bad news is that they were both won by my son, not me  :(

my New York trip has been cancelled!  I was dreading it - losing most of my weekend for 48 hours in the city with economy flights at horrible times, then a really busy few days when I get back.

The client has moved it to London - hurrah!!

I extracted £56.47 in unanticipated gas bill refund from 2007 from nPower.  This involved taking a letter to a post office, where the man checked my ID, repeatedly scanned the barcode on the letter and generally swore at his computer a lot before handing over cash.

Why they can't use proper electronic money is a topic for the rant thread, but it was still worth the faffing about.
