GN: The electrified baraktacycle is perilously close to being road ready, pending the acquisition of appropriately long M3 screws and some final assembly of the wiring harness.

BN: In a moment of tiredness-induced stupidity I shorted the ground terminals of the DC:DC converter that powers the control logic and lighting supply, mit blowenfusen und spitzensparken.  I now have to wait a week or so for replacement magic smoke to be shipped from Germany.

This is actually very annoying.  I was hoping she'd be able to ride it this weekend.

GN: Working at home tomorrow, so no need to commute either by car or by bike.
BN: I've got an appointment with the dental hygienist at 9am and my annual retinopathy scan at 9.50 - because of the latter, the bulk of the morning will be a write-off on account of not being able to see properly  >:(

GN: It's Friday, so in 54 minutes I shall be heading home

BN: Looking out of the window the A14 W is stacked up, and the A1 at J35 is closed (I can't see that far from my windows, trafficengland tells me that one).  Looks like I might be late getting home tonight :(

ExtraBN: TLD is ill, think she has caught the same bug that IZ has, for the second year in a row!

Update, took me 5.5 hours to get home. A14 backed up, A1 backed up north of Peterborough, due to 6 car smash thenA1 shut at Doncaster, so went via M18 and M1.

GN: I have sold my Islabike Beinn to a nice lady in Littlehampton at a price that should see both parties happy.
GN: That enables me to buy AWL Jr's xmas bike.
BN: Despite badgering, he insists on having a BMX bike.
GN: I got an extra £15 off

This reminds me of the old joke where a man says to his wife, "Tell me something that will make me happy and sad at the same time."

This morning I lost my mobile phone when walking the dog in the park.

On discovering its absence when I arrived home, I took my bike and retraced my route, telling the few dog walkers I met thAt I had lost it and asking them to keep their eye out for it. I didn't fin it nut asI arrived home Dez was striding out to meet one of the women I had met, who had found my phone and dialled my home number to let us know.

I think there is a fair chance that it might have been Rachel Riley.

BN - the central heating didn't work this morning.

GN - James thinks he can fix it.

BN - he is at work and won't be back until 4pm.

GN - I have lit the woodburner and it's warming the lounge beautifully. The dog is camped out on the chair beside it. We also have a full woodpile so no worries about chucking logs on it all day - we have enough for a year!

BN - I have now finished all the Christmas present wrapping that can be done in the warm lounge and need to get back to work in the slightly chilly study.

GN - a cup of tea ought to help with that!

GN: I can still get up the Brow in my normal gear (I think it's 34x21).
BN: Despite looking like a hippopotamus, sounding like a jelly and feeling like blu tack.
GN: But also feeling pretty good just to be there, TBH.

BN: The Christmas tree lights appear to be broken.  Only one colour of LED is working, out of four.  I'm going to bin them.
GN: I always thought they were really shitty naff lights anyway.  One less thing in the house that I didn't have a say in the choosing of  :D
