Pompey Friday Night Ride from London Village - 16th October
« on: 14 September, 2015, 06:50:23 pm »
A date for your diaries my darlings: Friday 16th October - Pompey Friday Night Ride From London Village. Meeting at the St Stephens Tavern from 19:00 and leaving at 23:00 for Portsmouth. The earlier date and time means we can take in Richmond Park, food at Guildford (courtesy of Subway), Petersfield Mc Donalds and a fry up at Old Portsmouth around 08:30 on the Saturday morning. Mega-Train tickets were available at the weekend for discounted fares to Waterloo. Come along and enjoy the ride!

I plucked that time out of thin air however I have found it wise to get there in time to reserve seating for guests.

I'd have thought the chances of being able to reserve seating at the St Stephen's Tavern, arriving 1900 on a Friday, were negligible.

1530, you might have a chance.

This has been the meeting place for the last three (possibly 4) installments of this ride and has served us well so far. We have never reserved seating (I don't think you can anyway) however I have found that we seem to always make our own space as the evening progresses.  :demon:

Merely a week away

Am performing a dry-ish run to Guildford on Tuesday evening to test a new exit from the city - this time via Richmond Park. I expect an early visit to the St Stephens Tavern will be required to check that beer is still served there  :demon:
