And there was me thinking that you'd bought a car off Sting.

ACCIDENT?

It looks as if it's been in a few, probably stair-related.

Yup, and it has impressive mileage, having been to Africa and back.  :)

About a week ago mini was looking at it, and said ominously, 'I thought the seats went all the way back'...  She produced a backrest rather sheepishly, I wasn't massively overjoyed, but at least it super  glued perfectly...   :)

It even has a movable auto selector stick...

I love how Dinky never got the proportions quite right. Close, but not exact.

Where is JE? I had a mini with a JE plate but have no idea where it was originally from. I only wanted the gearbox and threw the rest of it away  :P I think I got a tenner for it
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Well done Andy.

None of mine survived the attention of Ronson's lighter fuel and my Dad's .177 air rifle.

I bet that would be a handful for Fuzzy in the snow.   A very heavy engine up front (only 138bhp though!) and RWD are not a happy combination for traction.

Someone once got a Capri, pebbledashed it (literally) and renamed it the "Ford Crapi".

Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

I've got a lovely scale Cararama model (same colour too only LHD) of my dad's old Capri; Does anyone else collect model cars of ones they once owned? can be an expensive hobby, I'm still looking for a Citroen AX.

SWMBO was the proud owner of a 1.6 Mk III Capri (ODG300W) when I first met her. Nice motor, fun to drive, easy to maintain. The best fun I ever had driving (outside of at work) was taking a 2.8i Capri (4 speed gearbox) for a test drive in the lanes around Cricklade. 'Entertaining' handling and power combination.

My one true regret about the Capri? They stopped making them before they thought to release the Cosworth Capri to the world.
