Perhaps he'll spend the middle of the day riding up the Severn towards Tewkesbury to meet his routes around the North of the Cotswolds. Would have the wind behind him there while it's strongest today.

That would be a good route. If he followed the usual route back from Tewkesbury via Southam it would give him about 230 miles.

I can see the ride report now.." Steve today took advantage of the weather to pull a Starboard Crazy Ivan complete with Double Gibbon"...a difficulty score if 2.9.

Looking at the tracker Steve is indeed heading to the Severn vale to possibly head north to Tewkesbury

Alveston Premier Inn - 2nd Breakfast?
It is simpler than it looks.

Heading for my neck of the woods, shame I'm not available to ride out :(
Even though it's not very windy today, there'll be a breeze up the Severn vale, there always is.

He's gone the other way! Just as well I didn't go out to see him pass.

Alveston, oh, Alveston,
I can smell the bangers fryin’;
I’ll have eight there’s no denyin’.
And I’ll have another one, before I’m leavin’ Alveston.

I bet the Premier Inn takes a big hit today!
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I was expecting a tailwind assisted blast up the A38!  Quite a good main road to cycle on in my experience - wide, with cycle markings/hardshoulder for much of it.
Does not play well with others

Yes, that was where I was about to head to, until I saw him wasn't going there.  ;D

As for Tarzan, he's marching to Georgia.

Tarzan would have got a surprise if he'd looked at Steve's tracker and see how many miles the Great TG had done before he got up!

It's 20 odd miles to the first tracking point too. I wonder how far TG has actually done so far today.

My estimate: Roughly 140 miles (the 115 on the tracker, plus 5 because it's always a bit low, plus 20 for getting to the start point)

Indeed.

All my DIY rides include chunks of the A38 between Droitwich and Bristol. And almost pancake flat innit :)

While we have been discussing Crazy Ivans, Marsh Gabon's and the A38 Steve has quietly topped 12000 miles for the year, completed his 64th consecutive 200km ride and will shortly convert this into his 39th 300km ride of the year

MARSH GIBBON

Oh happy days

He seems to be taking a Northern route home, reducing the chance of gibbonning.
